Aviance Battles (Company Dancer)

Originally from Kansas City, KS, Aviance graduated from Wichita State University with her BFA in Dance Performance with an emphasis in Modern Dance. While at WSU, she had the opportunity to tour Veracruz, Mexico with the Wichita Contemporary Dance Theatre, travel to New York for a professional development program at GibneyNY, and attend the 2019 Joyce Theatre Symposium. Aviance has danced in works by choreographers Charlotte Boye-Christensen, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Jammie Walker of Mark Morris Dance Company, and Mary Lynn Graves of Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company as well as trained with Urban Bush Women from NYC and Dallas Black Dance Theatre in Dallas. Aviance is a hip hop, jazz, and contemporary dance instructor at Midwest Dance Mechanix and is a Level 1 GYROTONIC®️  Instructor. This is her second season with RKDC.
