SUMMARY:Winter 2026 Student Showcase
DESCRIPTION:RKDC invites you to join us for Dancing with RKDC’s Winter season student showcase\, at the James Armstrong Theatre in Torrance\, CA! Our recitals will feature performances by our over 250 students\, including Dancing with RKDC’s 4 performance groups. This season\, our show will take place on two nights\, March 19 and 20 at 7pm. Most level 1 and beginner classes perform in one of the two shows. Tickets go on sale for families on February 17/general public on February 24 and can be purchased by visiting the James Armstrong Theatre Box Office 1-8pm (Tu-F)/ 12-4p (Sat)\, or going ONLINE. \nFamilies will be provided with specific information about the show including rehearsal time and show time during the first 2 weeks of the season. Please check your email for important communications from RKDC. \nWhat You Need to Know: \n\nAdditional costs apply. All performers must pay a performance fee and a costume fee. This is not included in the cost of tuition.\nPerformers must attend their scheduled rehearsal.\nLevel 1 and most beginner classes perform in one of the two shows. Please check your performance agreement for this information (handed out weeks 1 and 2).\nAll performers remain backstage for the duration of the show (75 – 90 mins). Each class needs 2-3 volunteers backstage. If you would like to be with your child backstage\, consider volunteering. Please express your interest to your child’s teacher at the first or second class.\nShow tickets\, costume fees\, and performance fees are not refundable.\nYour child’s show information will be available on the RKDC Parent Portal. Connect yourself to the earth and sky\, and to your body and breath\, through movement and concepts of nature\, awakenings\, and expansion. This class is your invitation to experience the joy of movement with guided instruction from RKDC Dancer\, Rile Reavis\, all set amidst the lovely surroundings of the gardens. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. The workshop runs from 1:00-1:45pm. \nAdmission to the workshop is FREE with your entrance into Botanica. Class takes place on the grand lawn by the stage and carousel. DESCRIPTION:Upcoming Schedule: \nThursday\, March 31 @ 9am \nFriday\, April 8 @ 9am \nFriday\, April 15 @ 9am \nWe are excited and inspired by the community partnership between Regina Klenjoski Dance Company and Andover Dance Academy! This partnership is designed to support and promote all levels of dance experience in our community. One of the offerings through this alliance is an Intermediate/Advanced Modern Dance Technique class for dancers 18 and older. RKDC will be rehearsing at Andover Dance Academy regularly this year\, and it is opening its company class to the community on Friday mornings from 9-10:00 AM. It is a wonderful opportunity for adult dancers to hone their technical skills\, get their bodies moving\, and get acquainted with the company. Class fee $15. \nClass Description \nOpen Company Class begins with a short body-sensing improvisation\, builds to center strength work\, and finishes with across the floor large traveling phrases.  Her modern class emphasizes improvisation for body awareness\, dynamic alignment\, flow through a strong understanding of weight\, the five levels of space (floor\, low\, mid\, high\, air)\, and body intelligence through somatic perspectives. \nKlenjoski has 30 years of experience performing\, choreographing\, and teaching dance to ages 2-99.  She has trained hundreds of pre-professional and professional dancers through classwork that draws from her background in Limon and Release technique\, improvisation\, ballet\, inversion methods\, and somatic movement practices grounded in Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban Movement Analysis.
