The Junior Track in our summer intensive is crafted to spark enthusiasm and joy in young dancers who are at the beginning to intermediate levels of their experience. This track is designed not only to build foundational skills but also to encourage a deep curiosity for the art of dance.
Over the course of the week, students are immersed in a variety of dance styles, including Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Improvisation, to support their skill development, strengthen their technique, and experience the excitement of dance in a fun and supportive environment. It’s an ideal setting for young dancers to discover new ways of moving, make new friends, and ultimately experience an unforgettable adventure in dance.
Ages: 8-12 (younger students considered with audition, please email dance@rkdc.org)
Level: beginning / intermediate

Wichita State University Dance Studio 144a

We are proud to offer one full and two partial scholarships for our Junior Track to help make this experience accessible to more young dancers. If your child, ages 8–12, is interested in applying for a tuition scholarship, we invite you to submit a short video as part of the application process.
The scholarship video should be ~ 2 minutes long and does not need to be professionally filmed—what matters most is that we see your passion, personality, and technique. In the first 30 seconds, please include a brief introduction with your name, age, where you’re from, how long you’ve been dancing, what styles you enjoy, a few words about why you are excited to join the summer intensive, and how this scholarship can help you pursue your passion. The second part of the video (60-90 seconds) should feature a short solo —this can be a freestyle or choreographed phrase, either self-created or learned—that highlights your strengths and style. Please submit your video as a shareable link (such as YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive) by emailing dance@rkdc.org. Include the applicant name in the email. The deadline for scholarship submissions is June 6, 2025.
