Regina Klenjoski Dance Company is a contemporary dance company based in Wichita, delivering dynamic dance theater and award winning education programming. We are seeking a Dance Instructor/Teaching Artist for our in studio youth dance classes. We welcome candidates with a wide range of dance expertise and teaching experience in ballet, hip hop and creative movement. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for dance education, youth empowerment, and possess dance teaching experience. Experience creating inclusive classroom environments and bilingual artists and individuals from traditionally under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Available classes:
- Saturdays, 10 am-12:45 pm, 9 weeks starting September 13. Ballet and Tap ages 4-7, Tiny Tots Hip Hop ages 4-7, and Parent and Me Dance ages 2-3. Classes held at Wichita State University.
- Mondays, 5:20-7:05, 9 weeks starting September 15. Beginning Ballet Lvl 1 and Beginning Hip Hop Levl 1 ages 7-11.
General Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Instructing students in technique, safety, and correct form
- Creating lesson plans: Developing lesson plans and choreography, and customizing lessons to meet students’ needs
- Evaluating students: Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback
- Helping students improve: Helping students develop strength, flexibility, and coordination, and helping them express themselves through dance
- Organizing in-studio performances: Organizing performances and monitoring students’ progress to help them improve as performers and individuals
- Creating a positive environment: Maintaining a positive and encouraging teaching environment
Qualifications – Education and Experience
- Minimum two years of dance teaching experience.
- Expert knowledge of at least one dance genre.
- Preferred – BA or BFA in dance related field or pursuing one currently

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to transport self and teaching materials to class locations.
- Demonstrate and maintain a high level of technical proficiency and physical ability in your respective dance genre.

Compensation:
