Regina Klenjoski Dance Company is proud to present their “Duets for My Valentine” Event on Friday, February 14th in celebration of Valentine’s Day! Join us for a romantic evening of dinner, drinks, dessert and dance performances at the Crown Uptown Theater and make it a night to remember.
Choreographer, Regina Klenjoski, her dancers and Wichita’s Celebrity Chef, Jason Febres, have crafted a Valentine’s Day celebration designed to leave you awestruck.
First, there’s dining in the spacious elegance of Crown Uptown Theatre, a beautifully renovated, 1920s-era vaudeville theatre. Febres (chef/owner of former “Taste and See”) offers his famous Latin Fusion Tango Taco Bar, First Street Bakery will whip up divine desserts to tantalize the taste buds and there will be a cash bar to mix up your favorite cocktails.
Then, the “Duets for My Valentine,” dances created by Klenjoski, evoke the mystery and drama of romance. RKDC dancers take the stage – but may even sweep by your table at some point – to project passion (“Fire and Ice”), obsession (“Lily and the Scorpion”) commitment (“Lifeline,” an excerpt from the company’s full length work, “Far From Home”) and more. Company members Sarah Frangenberg, Nadia Khalidi, Max Mayerle, Elleigh McClelland, Deiondre Teagle and Makayla Williams portray the many faces of love.
Guest artist, Chad Michael Hall, a Los Angeles native and former member of Pilobolus Dance Theatre, dances with Klenjoski herself in a playful pairing set to the music of Los Angeles composer David Karagianis.
The dance floor opens to all at evening’s end. There will also be prize giveaways and photo opportunities throughout the night. Come celebrate Valentine’s Day with us!
