RKDC is honored to join New Dance Partners, an esteemed annual event hosted by Johnson County Community College at the Midwest Trust Center. This year’s event, taking place on September 20-21, 2024, at Yardley Hall, brings together four acclaimed choreographers and four Midwest dance companies to debut original contemporary and modern dance works. RKDC will perform a new work by Kia S. Smith, a celebrated Chicago-based choreographer and founder of South Chicago Dance Theatre, who has been recognized as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2024. Smith will join RKDC in Wichita this September to create a world-premiere piece for this prestigious festival. Alongside RKDC, the event will also feature performances by The Kansas City Ballet with choreographer Peter Chu, Owen/Cox Dance Group with choreographer Alexander Anderson, and Störling Dance Theater with choreographer Hélène Simoneau.
