Rachel began her dance training at the age of 4 at Long Beach Ballet Academy, where she performed in 13 seasons of The Nutcracker and 9 annual spring productions. As a member of both the Junior and Senior Companies for three years, she attended the Regional Dance America Festival, where her studio was recognized as an Honor Company. In high school, Rachel was a member of her school’s dance team, spending two years on the Intermediate team and two years on Advanced. During this time, she also trained at Onstage Dance Center, where she discovered a passion for jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and improvisation. Rachel has been teaching dance since the age of 15 and is deeply passionate about both the art form and working with children. She earned her B.A. in Child Development from California State University, Long Beach, and is currently pursuing her M.S. at Texas Woman’s University. Her continued training includes work with Lume Dance Training under the direction of Maryann Chavez and Monika Felice Smith, as well as classes at Millennium Dance Complex. Rachel is excited to share her experience and love of dance with the students at RKDC.
